Not getting married! (I hope when you were reading this, you started singing half way through... I know I did).

I'm sure the title of this blog post nearly made my boyfriend have a panic attack... but fear not people, I'm not getting married... I'm simply going to be talking about the wonders of wedding makeup.

I don't know about you, but I love seeing pictures of a bride's makeup. Whether they choose to go for a natural look or slightly more glam, I think every bride looks beautiful on their big day.

If you follow me over on Instagram (JesseJoyBeauty), then you will see that I recently created a look, I felt, would be perfect for a bride's special day. It ended up being very whimsical, and even my friends said I reminded them of a fairy... which by the way is a huge compliment, as fairies to us are completely magical.

I'm not going to go through all the products I used to create the look, but I will list some of the key products that made the makeup look so special.

I'm going to start with the eyes. As you can see from the image above, I kept the eyes quite simple, with a mix of golds and soft brown/copper tones. The eyeshadows I used were all from one palette, the Jackie Aina palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

  • The first colour I used was Soleil, which is a beautiful light gold shimmery shade. I used my finger to apply this all over my lid. I find using my fingers for glittery/shimmery shades work better and provide greater colour transfer.

  • The next colour was Zamn, which is a stunning dark gold/bronze shimmery shade. Again I used my fingers and applied this only in the outer corner of my lid.

  • Then I used the colour Ginger, which is a gorgeous subtle copper shade. I used a soft angle brush to apply this to the crease of my eyes. Remember, always blend your eyeshadow, you don't want to end up with heavy, solid blocks of colour.

  • The final colours I used were Credit and Edges, which are soft brown/copper shades. I mixed the both of these together and applied with a thin brush along my lower eyelid.

Next we move on to blusher, something I feel is so important to any bride's day. It just gives you a little pop of colour, making you look all fresh faced and ready for what the day has to bring!

The blusher I used for this look is quite a new purchase, but one I've been wanting to make for a long time... and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The blusher in question is the Nars blush in Orgasm X. It works so well at complimenting my skin tone, and only a little bit really does go a long way with this product. It has great staying power, and looks amazing in photos and when it catches the light.

The Nars blush retails at £25 and comes in an array of colours, so you should be able to find the perfect shade for you.

Finally we move onto the lips! I wanted to go for the perfect nude combination for this look, so went back to my trusty MAC liner, lipstick and gloss. The exact products I used were:

  • MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl. This lip pencil is a gorgeous deep taupe colour, which is perfect for lining your lips ready for a nude lipstick combo.

  • Mac Lipstick in Blankety. This lipstick is a slightly pink nude, and glides on in a creamy satin finish.

  • Mac Lipstick in Myth (I applied Blankety first and then applied a little Myth over the top). This lipstick is more a cream/beige nude, and works perfectly with Blankety.

  • MAC lipgloss in Myth. This lipgloss compliments the finished lip perfectly, plus it's not too sticky which is always a bonus.

I really hope you've enjoyed reading about this look and the products I used, just as much as I enjoyed creating it. I'm also happy to share with you the foundation I used, plus other face base products if you'd like. Please do just let me know in the comments below, and I'll be sure to add it to the list of future posts I do.

So that's it from me this week guys, I'll leave you with some of my favourite lyrics to the Chapel song mentioned earlier:

"Bells will ring, the sun will shine, whoa-oh-oh

I'll be his and he'll be mine".

Speak soon!
