I've said this before in a previous blog post, but I really wanted to emphasise again how makeup is there to help enhance your already beautiful features, not hide or cover them. I think it's really important for people to remember that 'beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself'.

Applying makeup really is an art form and for me, being able to learn tips and tricks and find new products that help enhance my features is something I have a huge passion for. I could get lost in talking about makeup for hours, so I will try my hardest to make sure this post doesn't last an eternity!

To make sure I keep my promise, I'm going to focus on writing about my all-time favourite soft glam look.

This is a look I'll often opt for when going out for a nice dinner with the girls and is also perfect for a special date night.

I don't know about you, but one of my favourite parts of a special evening out is the getting ready before hand. Music on, prosecco in hand, laughing with friends and sitting down ready to apply your favourite makeup.

I've tried and tested many products in the past, but for the last couple of years I've been using pretty much the same go-to items each time. I've placed a picture in this blog post for you to see collectively exactly what I use, but I will also list the products and the colours later on - just in case you decide to go and treat yourself!

Now, before I go through how I achieve my soft glam look, I want to focus on how important it is to prepare your skin well before applying makeup. Make sure you wash your face thoroughly and that there is no trace any previous makeup left on the skin. You should also be exfoliating your skin around twice a week and always apply a moisturiser day and night. I currently use the La Roche-Posay Efflaclar Mat, which is a great base to then apply your foundation. Note here, I don't actually use primer before applying foundation - this is a personal choice, but I feel they clog my pores and create a barrier between my skin and product.

So, here we go - a list of products I use... and yes there are quite a few, so as you can imagine a number of glasses of prosecco have been consumed prior to going out hehe!

- Dior Forever Foundation. Shade 2N. First, I apply foundation to my skin - I usually use around 3 pumps of this product placing a pump on my left cheek, right cheek and then forehead. To blend in I use a damp beauty blender. Make sure you spend time blending and also work the foundation down your neck - you don't want harsh lines.

- Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder. I cannot rave about this setting powder enough! The price point is really reasonable and finish it gives is beautiful. It really helps matify the skin without drying it out. Leave this on for a few minutes before gently sweeping off excess with a makeup brush.

- Mac Studio Fix Foundation Powder. Shade NC30. I then apply a dusting of this studio fix powder to help smooth out my skin a little more and keep my foundation in place. I dust a layer of this over my whole face and neck with a large makeup brush.

- Mac Eye Brows Styler. Shade Spiked. Next I go to work on my eyebrows. My eyebrows are naturally very fair and sparse, so I tend to spend quite a time creating the right shape and arch to help emphasise my natural brow. I firstly go in and create the shape with this MAC eyebrow pencil, it has great colour transfer and you don't have to push to hard like other pencils.

- Urban Decay Brow Blade. Shade Brown Sugar. This is a great eyebrow tool. It has a really fine tip to help create natural looking eyebrow hairs. I use this to create a natural look at the inner corner of my brows and to build hair strokes throughout the arch and the tail.

- Benefit Gimme Brow. Shade 3.5. The final product I use is the Gimme Brow by Benefit. This helps to direct the hairs of your brows in the right direction and also helps to build volume for sparse brows - like mine!

- Mac Mineralize Bronser. Shade Give Me Sun. This is a fairly new addition to my kit and I am absolutely in love with it. It creates a real holiday-vibe bronze to your face, but isn't too harsh and photographs really well. I use this around my forehead, cheekbones and along my jawline.

- Clinique Cheek Pop. Shade 12 Pink Pop. Next, I take my blusher brush and apply the clinique cheek pop just on the apples of my cheeks to give a nice fresh, healthy look.

I'm going to add a video in here to break up all this makeup talk! This video actually showcases all the products I'm listing in this blog post.

- Tartelette palette by Tarte. I first take the shade Free Spirit in this palette and dust all over my lid and up to my brow line. This is a lovely pale nude colour, and is the perfect base before applying colour.

- Huda Beauty Desert Dush Palette. I then go in with this palette to build up colour. I start with Desert Sand all over the lid and then transition to the colour Amber just in the crease of my eye and the outer corners. I then build this up even more with Oud (a deeper brown), just in the outer corners of my lid in a wing like motion. I then go back and concentrate on the lid with Nefertiti and Blood moon - beautiful, shimmery colours. Tip here - when using more shimmery colours, try wetting your brush first before applying.

- Tarlette palette by Tarte. Back to the Tarlette palatte and using colours Dreamer and Multi-Tasker (dark browns) to underline the eye. Doing this really opens your eyes up and makes them appear larger. The most important thing is to blend, blend, blend! You don't want a harsh brown line under your eye, so build this up slowly and blend.

- Maybelline Hyper Precise All Day Line in Black. I then use this fine tip liner to create a wing-like liner effect to my lids.

- Mii Feauture Length Lash Lover Mascara. Shade Ambition. This again, is a fairly new addition to my makeup bag and I love it. It gives great length to your natural lashes and also builds volume to make them look thicker.

- Huda Beauty strip lashes in Lengthie #23. When I don't have my lash extensions on (which is very rare!), then I'll use a strip lash. One of my favourites at the moment is the Lengthie lash by Huda Beauty. They fan out really nicely and add so much volume and length.

- Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner. Shade Eastend Snob. I use this liner to line my lips and add a little depth to the main colour. This liner is great, it glides on smoothly and is effortless to use.

- Tom Ford Lipstick. Shade Mason. This is my all time favourite lipstick - I even have a post about it, so go check it out! It's a lovely glossy pink that never dries your lips out and lasts such a long time!

- Dior Lip Maximizer Lip Plumper. Shade 009. I then finish my lips with a gloss by Dior. This gloss isn't overly sticky (yay!) and also helps naturally plump your lips - extra bonus!

- Morphe Setting Mist. To finish the look and keep everything in place, I use the Morphe Setting Mist. It helps to ensure your makeup doesn't budge and smells amazing - I highly recommend!

So... there you have it! All the products I use and how I use them to achieve my all-time favourite soft glam makeup look.

I really hope you have enjoyed this post, and remember - if you try any of the products, let me know how you found them and if you liked them as much as I do.

I'm going to leave this blog post here with a great quote from Bobbi Brown: 'I believe all women are pretty without makeup - but with the right makeup can be pretty powerful!'
