Hello everyone! Well... can you believe we are in December already?! I honestly do not know where this year has gone, I feel like it's been the longest, yet shortest year of my life so far... hopefully you all know what I mean!
I actually can't believe it's been 8 months since I started this blog, who knew I would find so much to say about makeup, hair, fashion... and then makeup again!
To be honest, I've thoroughly enjoyed sharing my makeup tips, beauty finds and fashion ideas with you all. Writing about things you are so passionate about is really quite therapeutic, so starting this blog during 2020, which has to be one of the most stressful years for us all, was such a great help for me!
Today, I thought I'd write about something a little different. As you can probably guess from the title, I wanted to share with you all my favourite perfume scents I've found over the years.
Perfume for me, is such a special and personal choice. Smelling a certain perfume can really remind you of a holiday, a special occasion, or just a moment in time... and the memory is so vivid sometimes, that if you close your eyes, you could actually be back on that beach in Dubai sipping a Pina Colada.
My go-to preference for perfume has always been sweet scents. When I was younger, I remember one of my favourite perfumes was Fantasy by Britney Spears... who remembers this? I actually think they still sell it today. It was that perfume, all those years ago, that got me into the sweeter scents.
I've had many perfumes over the years, the Jean Paul Gaultier (Classic) was a staple of mine for a long time. When I close my eyes and think about that perfume now, it takes me back to my early 20's. You only needed a couple of sprays and it lasted you pretty much all day, it was definitely a strong, unmistakable scent.
As the years have progressed, I've changed my go-to perfumes several time.
The handful I have in my collection today can be viewed in the below picture.

Let me give you a quick overview on all the above scents:
1. Firstly we have the Carolina Herrera Good Girl Limited Edition perfume. This comes in the most stunning gold sparkly bottle. If you haven’t smelt this one yet, then I’d highly recommend! The exact description of this scent is as follows (taken from the Carolina Herrera website): "GOOD GIRL is created with richly fragrant cocoa and intoxicating Tonka. Almond and coffee bring GOOD GIRL its immediate vibrancy. Tuberose, extracted in a new way that creates a rich delicacy is the fragrance’s wild card, bringing fluidity and femininity".
This is honestly such a special perfume, and I often wear it for special evenings out.
2. Next up, we have the perfume by Christian Dior called - Miss Dior. This one reminds me of summer holidays and has been a staple of mine for about 6 years now. Whenever I smell it, I close my eyes and I'm instantly back to being on a beach, the sun warming my skin, and the sea breeze gentle blowing my hair... blissful!
The exact description of this scent is taken directly from the Dior website:
"The sparkling zests of Blood Orange and Mandarin illuminate the top notes. At the heart, Lilly of the valley brings freshness and lightness to the spicy burst of Grasse Rose. A base of clear Patchouli brings these happy notes together in an endless round."
3. Next, we have Yes I Am by Cacharel. This is extremely sweet and comes in an amazing lipstick bottle. If you like sweet perfumes then make sure you try this one. I tend to wear this in the evenings if I’m going out for dinner or drinks 💄
This perfume also really lasts, you only need a few spritzes of this before your evening out, and you will be able to smell the sweet goodness of this all evening!
4. Last, but not least, is Metallique by Tom Ford. This is the newest edition to my collection and my current favourite. This one only comes out on really special occasions. It's such a unique smell - a smell that when I wear it, I feel really special and in a way, quite unique, as I don't feel this scent is one I smell very often.
I honestly urge you to take a look at the description on the Tom Ford website, the way they have described this perfume really takes you on a journey. It's just a stunning scent and one that has created many amazing memories for me already.

I'd be really interested to know your favourite perfume.
Do you, like me, enjoy the sweeter scents? Or do you enjoy more woody, oriental, aromatic type scents? Let me know in the comments box below what your favourite is.
Maybe you've already made a list for Santa of your favourite perfumes that need restocking this year... I know I have!
Have a lovely weekend everyone, and I shall speak to you soon. I'm hoping to write another blog post in 2020 before we hit the New Year. So until then, stay safe and smell you later...
Love,
Jesse Joy Beauty xx
"Perfume is truly the art that makes memory speak—every fragrance tells a unique story. The best perfume doesn't just smell good; it evokes emotions and moments long forgotten. A signature scent can leave a lasting impression, making it more than a luxury—it's a powerful expression of identity and memory."
