The only reason a woman should ever look down, is to show off her eyeshadow!

I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a bore when it comes to experimenting with different eyeshadow colours. You'll often see me sporting the brown, smokey eye look which I can now do literally with my eyes shut... gosh, I'm just too funny for my own good!

However, after careful consideration I decided to try going for something different... I know, who even am I?! Scrolling through all the beautiful makeup pages on Instagram and Pinterest, I decided to try a pink tone colour palette. This is something I've steered away from in the past because if you don't get it right, you can be left looking like you have sore eyes, not really the vibe you want to be achieving!

So, after deciding on a pink tone colour palette, the next big question was: "which one?!" There are so many on the market that say they're highly pigmented, have great staying power, and are super blendable. I was literally like a kid in a candy shop, going from website to website adding more and more into my shopping cart. Ultimately, I knew that I'd only be purchasing one, so it was really important for me to read the reviews (something I strongly suggest you do too). After thoroughly comparing all my notes, (yes, this really is how seriously I take this stuff!), I decided to go for an Anastasia Beverley Hills palette.

The exact palette in question, was the Jackie Aina Palette. As you can see from the picture above, it has a beautiful mix of pinks, purples, browns and some glitters too.

When the parcel arrived, I was again, like a kid... but at Christmas this time! I couldn't wait to open it up and take a look at the colours in natural daylight. First of all, I have to comment on how beautiful the packaging was. A metallic finish that looked gold, purple and pink, depending on how the light was shining onto it. It felt and looked luxurious, so even before opening the palette to see the eyeshadows, I knew they were going to be amazing!

I waited all week to finally get stuck in and use the palette... I was actually impressed at how I managed to restrain myself! By the time Saturday came around I knew exactly what look I was going to go for, and the colours I was going to use. I wanted to create a soft glam look, something you could get away with wearing during the day, but then easily transition into the evening.

Let me outline the colours I used and the order in which I used them:

- Ginger: I used this colour to sweep lightly through the crease of my eyelid.

- Edges: This colour I also used in the crease but to build up depth.

- Pinker: This was the last colour I used in my crease to give a delicate pink finish.

- Soleil: I used this beautiful gold shimmery colour all over the lid of my eye.

- Zamn: This shimmery colour I used in the outer corners of my lid to build up depth and drama.

- Trust issues: I used this shimmery colour in the inner corners of my eye and to highlight just underneath my brow bone.

- Edges/Pinker: I used both colours together to line underneath my eye which helps to make the eye appear bigger.

Remember to blend at each stage of application, otherwise the colours will sit looking very solid and heavy on the eye. I'm happy to report - the eyeshadows in this palette were extremely blendable and easy to work with.

There are so many more looks I want to create with this palette... the list is pretty endless.

If you have any looks you want me to create, or specific colours you want me to use, then just comment down below and I will add them to that endless list!

In the meantime, remember: 'You can never have too much tea or too many eyeshadow palettes!'
